![]() ![]() The building was the cornerstone of the Texas Medical Center, a 43-acre site that today is the location for 42 individual health institutions including two medical schools, four schools of nursing, 13 renowned hospitals, and two specialty institutions. Anderson Foundation, the school moved to Houston and set up classes in an old Sears Roebuck Warehouse near the banks of Buffalo Bayou in 1943.īy 1947, the school was entirely housed in the new Cullen Building, named for Houston oilman Roy Cullen and his wife Lillie. ![]() In 1903, the school affiliated with Baylor University in Waco and became Baylor University Medical School. Founded in 1900, Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) started as the Medical Department of the University of Dallas. ![]()
